Association of Masters

The Masters Hall of Fame, a leading organization dedicated to recognizing excellence in martial arts, has announced the creation of the Association of Masters. The Association, which replaces the Academy of Masters, is a membership-based organization designed to help support the Masters Hall of Fame in its efforts to promote best practices in the martial arts. The Association does this by sponsoring seminars with different martial arts masters from throughout the world.

“The goal of the Association of Masters is to be the membership arm of the Masters Hall of Fame, and to help the organization in its goal of recognizing excellence in martial arts.” Hanshi Dan Hect, CEO of the Masters Hall of Fame

Recipients of the Academy of Masters Award will automatically become members of the new Association of Masters, and additional members will be added based on criteria being developed by the Masters Hall of Fame Executive Committee. This committee, composed of top martial artists who have been selected as Masters Hall of Fame Ambassadors, will commission a sub-committee to develop guidelines for the role of the Association of Masters.

One of the first events of the Association of Masters will be the first Leadership Conference and Awards Ceremony. This event, presented in conjunction with Budo Magazine, will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at the Hilton Orange County/Costa Mesa. Calls for nominations for the first Association of Masters Awards have recently gone out to current Masters Hall of Fame Ambassadors as well as martial arts instructors around the country.
