Masters Hall of Fame CEO, Hanshi Daniel Hect tapped as Top Cop at Xavier University.

 

Daniel Hect moves to Xavier University in Cincinnati Ohio and assumed the position of Director of Public Safety-Chief of Police January 3, 2018. Hanshi Daniel Hect is a well know martial artist, and has been recognized as one of the top 400 influential martial artists in the United States in 2017 by Ted Gambordella. Daniel was inducted into the Masters Hall of Fame in 2003, and in 2006 Hanshi Daniel Hect assumed the leadership of the Masters Hall of Fame and is the current Chairman of the Board and CEO. Hanshi Daniel Hect re-focused the mission of the Masters Hall of Fame to "Recognizing Excellence in the Martial Arts" and has made the Masters a premier brand in the martial arts community. Under Daniel Hect's leadership, the Masters Hall of Fame has held events in collaboration with the Long Beach International Karate Tournament, Disney Martial Arts Festival and the Martial Arts History Museum.

 

Daniel Hect is an avid competitor and won the Sabudokai Heavy Weight Championship in San Pedro California in 1985, he has also won thirteen medals in the Western States Police and Fire Games and the California Police and Fire Games throughout his law enforcement career in martial arts competition.

 

Daniel has spent his adult life serving others, he retired as a Security Forces Master Sergeant from the Air Force Reserves, after 32 years of service; he also retired from the University of Southern California Department of Public Safety with more than 26 years of service.  From December 2014 to December 2017, Daniel was the Director of Campus Safety at Denison University in Granville Ohio where he served as the chief law enforcement officer for the university. During his tenure, Daniel re-shaped the Office of Campus Safety into a professional organization and gaining recognition of the National Association of Campus Safety Administrators as the Director of the Year in 2015 for his community policing outreach.

 

In January 2018, Daniel will move to Xavier University in Cincinnati Ohio and assumed the position of Director of Public Safety-Chief of Police.

The XUPD team has an excellent reputation and is doing amazing work while embracing the Community using community policing outreach,” said Chief Daniel Hect.  “I look forward to getting to know the Xavier community, and working to reduce the fear of crime in our communities” Hect continued.   

 

Daniel is an alumnus of the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, he has a Master's Degree in Liberal Studies from USC and is pursuing his Doctorate of Education with an emphasis in Organizational Leadership at Argosy University.
