Bob White.jpgSenior Master of the Arts Bob White to Receive Masters Hall of Fame Legacy Award

Costa Mesa, CA (For Release) - Senior Master of the Arts Bob White, a 10th Degree Black Belt in American Kenpo Karate, will be presented with the Legacy Award at the 20th Anniversary Masters Hall of Fame Celebration on Saturday, July 27, at the Hilton Orange County Costa Mesa. The event will feature Dr. Robert Goldman as Grandmaster of Ceremonies and Sifu Cynthia Rothrock as Keynote Speaker.

Senior Master White began his teaching career in 1968 at the Ed Parker School and opened his own school, Bob White’s Kenpo Karate Studio, in Costa Mesa in 1979. He and his wife, Barbara, a registered nurse at Hoag Hospital for 20 years as well as an instructor at the school, have been dedicated and supportive members of the local community for more than 40 years. In addition, Senior Master White and his wife have since 2006 sponsored the Bob and Barbara White Invitational Youth Karate Tournament, with 100% of the profits going to the Royal Family Kids Camp program.

Over his many years of teaching, Senior Master White has trained thousands of students and guided more than 200 to the rank of black belt. During the 1990s his students brought home at least one Black Belt Grand Championship each year at the International Karate Championships. His school has won more than 1200 trophies at this prestigious competition. As a competitor himself, Senior Master White fought on the undefeated 1973 and 1974 National All Star Black Belt team, competing alongside and against such luminaries as the Urquidez Brothers, Steve Fisher, Bob Alegria, and many others.

“I am pleased and honored to present the Masters Hall of Fame Legacy Award to my dear friend Senior Master Bob White,” says Masters Hall of Fame Chairman Dr. Daniel Hect. “From his training of literally thousands of students to his dedication to supporting his community, Bob is a shining example of what a true martial artist is. This award reflects his lifetime of leadership and service to the martial arts community and the Masters Hall of Fame.”

The Masters Hall of Fame was founded in 1999 and is recognized as the premier Martial Arts event on the West Coast. The association recognizes exceptional Martial Arts Leaders and Legends through induction into the Masters Hall of Fame. Honorees are chosen for their dedication to and support of the martial arts and their work in the community.
