Masters Hall of Fame to Hold Awards Banquets in San Antonio, TX, and Columbus, OH

San Antonio, TX (For Release) - The Masters Hall of Fame, an organization dedicated to Recognizing Excellence in the Martial Arts, will host Awards Banquets in San Antonio, TX, and Columbus, OH, in June 2016. The Texas Awards Banquet will take place on Saturday, June 4, at the Hilton San Antonio Airport Hotel. On Saturday, June 18, the Masters Hall of Fame will celebrate its first Awards Banquet east of the Mississippi at the Sheraton Columbus at Capitol Square in Columbus, Ohio.

“I look forward to recognizing this year’s inductees for their contributions to the martial arts as well as for their service to the community.” Masters Hall of Fame Chairman Daniel Hect.

Legendary martial artist Frank Dux, whose experience in the Kumite was written about in Black Belt Magazine and became the basis for the 1988 film Bloodsport, will be the keynote speaker for the San Antonio Awards Banquet. Born in Canada and raised in California’s San Fernando Valley, Dux was fascinated with the martial arts. Through an eclectic “auditing” of styles, Dux developed his own mixed style that he later codified into what he called Dux Ryu Ninjutsu. He was inducted into the Masters Hall of Fame in 2011, receiving the Platinum Life Achievement Award for his contributions to the martial arts.

The keynote speaker for the Columbus Awards Banquet will be Sifu Alan Goldberg, a successful businessman, publisher and producer who has served on the board of the Arnold Sports Festival. Sifu Goldberg is the CEO of Action Martial Arts Magazine and Associate Producer of The Martial Arts Kid and has dedicated his personal and professional life to promoting and teaching the martial arts.

This is an exciting time for the Masters Hall of Fame,” says Chairman Daniel Hect. “We are honored to have two outstanding members of the martial arts community as our keynote speakers for our Awards Banquets. I look forward to recognizing this year’s inductees for their contributions to the martial arts as well as for their service to the community.”
