Sensei Nick “Hitman” Moran Receives Masters Hall of Fame Humanitarian Award

Long Beach, CA – The Masters Hall of Fame inducted Mixed Martial Arts fighter Sensei Nick “Hitman” Moran at the organization’s annual Awards Banquet held on August 1, 2014, at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach. The event was held in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the Long Beach Internationals, a premier karate championship founded by legendary American Kenpo Grandmaster Ed Parker. Sensei Moran holds a 1st Degree Black Belt in Shotkan Karate and 2nd Degrees in Doce Pares, Kilat, Sambo, Ju Jitsu and Muay Thai, and has been active in a total of ten different martial arts.

“Martial Arts saved me in so many ways, but the real honor for me is to be a part of such an amazing organization and to be recognized with some of the best fighters in the world.” Sensei Nick “Hitman” Moran

For Sensei Moran, the martial arts were more than just a physical outlet. Learning how to fight to survive from a young age gave him the desire to help others, especially children, to fight for what they want in life. His success as an MMA fighter has given him a platform to share his passion for implementing change for young people. Sensei Moran’s goal, through his non-profit organization Keep Fit America, is to help children to find what makes them strong in every aspect of their lives. Sensei Moran works to help combat childhood obesity through a combination of education, training and inspiring awareness.

“We deal with kids with obesity and who have gastric bypass surgeries and all kinds of health issues,” said Sensei Moran, “anything we can do to help them in society.”

After dedicating his award to his wife, Sensei Moran recognized Master German Hernandez, who nominated him for the Humanitarian Award, for his support on the importance of working with children and for giving him a platform to share his passion for implementing change for youth.

Sensei Moran is the owner of Primal Fitness Centers, located in Irvine, Calif., which offers martial arts classes, personal training, sports specific training, fitness classes and much more.
