Senior Master of the Arts Bob White Honored with Masters Hall of Fame Legacy Award

Costa Mesa, CA (For Release) - On Saturday evening, July 26, Senior Master of the Arts Bob White, a 10th Degree Black Belt in American Kenpo Karate, was honored with the Legacy Award at the Masters Hall of Fame 20th Anniversary celebration. The event, which took place at the Hilton Orange County Costa Mesa, featured Dr. Robert Goldman as Grandmaster of Ceremonies, action film star Sifu Cynthia Rothrock as Keynote Speaker, and a special screening of the short film “The Last Dojo.”

While Senior Master White is recognized around the world as a leader in American Kenpo Karate, his honor was as much for the work he has done supporting children in the community and across the country. Since 2004 he has been involved with Royal Family Kids, an organization supporting children in foster care that today has more than 200 camps in 43 states and seven international countries.

After his introduction to the organization in 2004, Senior Master White and his wife, Barbara, began the Bob & Barbara White Invitational Youth Karate Tournament, with 100% of the profits going to the Royal Family Kids Camp program. In its 13 years, the tournament has raised more than $1 million and helped hundreds of abused and neglected children to attend the camp.

“When I started teaching in 1968 the idea of having a Legacy was beyond my wildest dreams,” said Senior Master White. “I am so grateful for the career I have had and the relationships that have been created.”

“Bob is a shining example of what a true martial artist is,” said Masters Hall of Fame Chairman Dr. Daniel Hect. “This award reflects his lifetime of leadership and service to the martial arts community and the greater community.”

BWKenpo.PNGThe Masters Hall of Fame was founded in 1999 and is recognized as the premier Martial Arts event on the West Coast. The association recognizes exceptional Martial Arts Leaders and Legends through induction into the Masters Hall of Fame. Honorees are chosen for their dedication to and support of the martial arts and their work in the community.
